What IS it about
Covent Garden?

All the standard stuff on any of the area sites – including ours – has been said time and time over. Even the variations have become standard and familiar. (well you know how we all love familiarity).

On a blog though, you can be forgiven for originality. This blog is going to be about what's been seen and heard at mobile level.... street level.

After all it is a street site.

Bond Street

The Virgin Mary - El Greco.

Beauty is Nature's coin, must not be hoarded, But must be current, and the good thereof Consists in mutual and partaken bliss

There’s a Christmassy story in the Soho section about the painting by El Greco. The caption is by Milton. because there is beauty in happiness – the happy part of the customary greeting “HAPPY CHRISTMAS”

This map thumbnail is of Mayfair.  It is often referred to as Bond street – the main underground to mayfair. (Clear? don’t worry it gets better at ground level) This image is linked to the Main Map on  covent-garden.co.uk which stretches from Park Lane to the Aldwych (W>E) and from above Oxford Street to the Eye and the South Bank (N>S)

We shall be writing on some interesting places to visit, eat, shop and just wander past some old exclusivity in the very buildings. Many generations of Londoners– including royalty have frequented and enjoyed this part of London.

We all get used to our surroundings – so this is also for people who live and work there…. just look up every so often.  London is famous for it’s skylines and the architecture is worth craning necks to see. More soon about skylines.
