A note from the author

We put this AVMovie together (a compilation of still photos and video clips) to show off London theatres as they are seen most often by theatre goers – by night.

Thanks to Ben Shafik for his lighthearted and  informative commentary and Fionn O'Lochlainn for the original music.

Watch out for the new version with current liveries and the names of the theatres as they appear.

WOW the Sister Act alive with Whoopi involved and a great singer

The video is not even trying to do justice to the dynamics of the show and the powerful and feeling singing.  This is a show with an expected high energy rating by all accounts. There's a sort of 'in love' feeling about it from the cast and the Web people - just a feeling carried forward by the exciting presense of Whoopi Goldberg..  She takes a role of more than director - she is 'being there' all the time.  It will be alive witty and well   for sure. Morale wise you could hardly have a happier cast. Just that should be enough to get you along - you will really enjoy Shiela Hancock's voice which has been well applauded for purity and guts.  You will enjoy the charm.

A well known singer and dancer gets in a jam. She just witnessed a crime which made her the vital witness to bring down a gang of nasties. The police hide her in a safe house in fact - very safe.  She blends in at a strict-ish nunnery. She is of course a nun who charms her sister nuns to sing and dance saucily.  With a piquancy, of part conflict, part persuasion the songs carry you along to a point where they perform to the church community and our star is not so well disguised - and recognized. From there the story is to unfold on the stage.
